Properties

It has good water solubility, its water solution is light yellow transparent solution, and can be kept stable in sealed storage at room temperature. The unique property of sodium glucoheptonate lies in its excellent chelating ability. As a multivalent chelating agent, the chelating ability of sodium gluconate and EDTA is 3-4 times higher than that of other common chelating agents under the same conditions. Especially when used as chelating agent in strong alkali medium, the solubility and stability of sodium glucoheptanate are much better than those of sodium glucoheptanate and EDTA.
